Client Challenge
A pharmaceutical client sought to address the significant lack of consistency in standards of care for rare neuromuscular diseases across international healthcare systems. They aimed to facilitate the development of international specialist networks, enable the sharing of best practices among multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals, and ensure strong patient voice representation throughout the clinical care pathway.
The complexity of coordinating meaningful engagement across multiple countries, different healthcare systems, and diverse specialist disciplines presented a substantial operational and strategic challenge.
Our Approach
Pi Healthcare designed and delivered a multi-year series of 19 non-promotional Peer-to-Peer Exchange programmes spanning multiple countries and bringing together multi-disciplinary teams of specialists from highly renowned Centres of Excellence worldwide. The programmes incorporated lectures, workshops, interactive discussions, and case study presentations focused on treatments, best practices, and disease management.
Pi Healthcare took an active strategic role by continuously monitoring the evolving life sciences landscape and competitor movements, adapting each event to remain focused and applicable to emerging developments. We provided comprehensive end-to-end operational support including internal compliance management, event logistics, expert moderation, and professional filming services. This integrated approach ensured seamless delivery across both virtual and in-person formats while maintaining the highest standards of engagement quality.
Key Outcomes
The programmes achieved exceptional results with a 100% endorsement rate from attending delegates, with all participants indicating they would recommend the programmes to colleagues. Pi Healthcare successfully engaged specialists from 69 countries across six continents, creating a truly global network of rare disease experts. The initiative produced over 130 video assets that serve as ongoing educational resources to improve health equity in this disease area.
Delegate feedback highlighted the practical value and multidisciplinary approach, with participants noting the programmes were "very valuable and practical" and "useful for effective diagnosis and patient care." The success of this approach led to continued partnership with the client, with Pi Healthcare replicating the model for additional disease areas, demonstrating both the effectiveness of the methodology and the strength of the trusted client relationship.
